What we are

Solar Worth Guide is a free, independent tool that helps you estimate whether home solar makes financial sense in your state now that the federal residential solar tax credit has ended for post-2025 installations. We combine your electricity rate, local solar production, and your utility's export policy into a transparent payback estimate.

What we are not

• We are not a solar installer or a marketplace.
• We do not collect your phone number, address, email, or quote requests.
• We do not sell leads or connect you with installers.
• We do not provide tax, legal, financial, or engineering advice.

How we're funded

This site is funded by display advertising only. Ads never change our estimates or the data we show. You can read exactly how the calculator works on our methodology page and see our data sources.

Our promise

We show our assumptions, cite our sources, label how fresh each data point is, and tell you plainly when a number is a fallback estimate rather than live data. When we can't confidently source something — like a state's current net-metering terms — we say "needs review" instead of guessing.
